A Name with Meaning
The name October Butterflies carries a meaning that is deeply personal. It was inspired by a connection that began years ago in the month of October during a difficult season- a time that ultimately became part of a greater story still unfolding. Over time, that connection continued to reveal itself in meaningful ways. Butterflies began appearing in unexpected ways—especially each October—serving as gentle reminders of God’s faithfulness and presence through every season. What once felt like a divine reminder became the foundation of a name rooted in purpose, meaning, and reflection.

Founder & Designer of October Butterflies
Some of my greatest joys in life are being a mom, a wife, and a small business owner. As a former elementary school teacher, I’ve always had a deep appreciation for thoughtful, personalized gifts, so when I had children of my own, it felt natural to bring that same intentionality to the pieces I created for their teachers.
What began as small gestures for my girls' teachers quickly grew into something more. Before I knew it, I was designing jewelry for myself, friends & family, and even strangers would stop to ask me about the bracelets I was wearing. That gentle nudge to step outside of my comfort zone and share my creations is what ultimately started October Butterflies.
I officially launched my small business exclusively through social media in October 2023, where I began designing and creating custom-made beaded bracelets for more than just my family and friends. I continued building and growing in this space until May 2024, when my journey took an unexpected turn when I shattered my wrist. The injury was so severe that I had to temporarily put my business on pause. 9 months plus two surgeries later, even when I finally returned to my craft, I realized my wrist would never fully recover, strictly limiting the number of pieces I could physically create in a day’s time. But even in that unexpected season, God remained faithful. What felt like setbacks became refinement. The hardships I walked through didn’t stop my business—they strengthened it, shaped it, and gave it deeper purpose.
Determined to keep my passion alive, I began sourcing high-quality bangles to not only complement my handmade designs but to give my wrist some relief. This shift allowed me to continue sharing beautiful jewelry with my customers, ensuring that even while my hand was healing, my heart for creating never wavered.
Today, October Butterflies is where I pour my heart & soul into designing, customizing, and sourcing meaningful jewelry. The name itself is rooted in my personal testimony—a story of my life that is, above all, a part of His story. My faith is my foundation, and every piece I offer is a heartfelt reflection of His faithfulness even through the unexpected.
